RALPH AGUIRRE, JR. “RAFAEL” Ralph is a self-taught artist who employs acrylic paint as the medium to illustrate his paintings on canvas with impressive detail. Having been blessed with the opportunity to travel to various countries, Ralph was inspired and filled with a desire to share the beauty and romance of these regions. This passion began with photography and quickly developed into a devotion to captivate these images on canvas. The realist style of his paintings is strongly influenced by his commitment to interpret each image with an analytical eye, attention to detail and the elements of color, texture, light and shadow. Born in Bogota, Colombia, Ralph moved to Florida at the age of ten. He is a University of Florida graduate where he studied Architecture, which greatly influences his style and subject matter. “It is a wonderful journey to experience the process and challenge that comes with reproducing a pleasing and colorful creation of natural and man-made beauty that has been enjoyed for centuries. I discovered a natural ability to mix colors in order to achieve this.” Ralph has found acrylic paints to be the medium that allows him to produce precise detail and vivid colors.
